Sunday, March 28 Barbados Rio via Miami

Depart Barbados by AA 1078 at 2:20pm arrive Miami at 6:45pm. Clear US immigration and Customs before connecting on AA 905 departing at 11:10pm.

Monday, March 29 Rio de Janeiro

Arrive Rio de Janeiro at 8:50am. After clearing immigration and customs, collect bags and board our private coach for our hotel:-

Porto Bay Rio International Hotel

Rest of day at our leisure to relax.

Tuesday, March 30 Corcovado Sugar Loaf Full Day Tour

Breakfast - After a beautiful scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, we will arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado hill where we will embark on a comfortable train which will go along the beautiful Mountain to where the statue of Christ, the Redeemer, overlooks Rio and its famous beaches. At 2230 feet, this hunchback mountain is where the Christ Redeemer statue stands with outstretched arms. At night, the 100 foot, 1,000 ton statue seems to float as if it were a guardian angel for the city. Return to hotel late afternoon.

Wednesday, March 31 Secrets of Old Rio - Half Day Tour

Breakfast - Witness a side of Rio not normally visited by tourists. An expert guide will lead you through the colonial avenues, squares and back streets of Rio, explaining the important historical, political, and social events that shaped Rio into South America`s most vibrant city. Not a dry 'museum tour' but instead an offbeat, somewhat irreverent look at a most interesting city.

After the tour, we will have tea in the most traditional delicatessen in Rio -Confeitaria Colombo.

Later in the evening we depart our hotel to see a spectacular samba show with singers and dancers in elaborate costumes who present Brazil’s rich folkloric traditions and capture the famous rhythms of Carnival.

Thursday, April 01 Petropolis Full Day Tour

Breakfast - Petropolis is located in the Orgaos Mountains, only one hour from Rio de Janeiro, we will be driven up a beautiful winding highway, stopping for a chance to see the pottery for which Petropolis is famous. It is known as the Imperial City, for it was chosen at the time of Brazil's monarchy to be the summer residence of the Emperor of Brazil - Pedro. It is an enchanting town with Cobblestone streets, horse and buggies, tree-lined squares. Return to our hotel after the tour.

Friday, April 02 Rio to Iguaçu Falls

Breakfast - Depart hotel by private coach at 7:00am for the airport in Rio. Our flight JJ 3153 departs at 10:20am, arriving Iguaçu Falls at 12:35pm. After the immigration and customs formalities, we collect our bags and board our private coach to our hotel - Recanto Park Hotel

Rest of day at our leisure to explore.

Saturday, April 03 Brazil Argentine Falls

Breakfast- Departure from the hotel to visit the Argentinean side of the Iguaçu Falls, located within the Iguaçu National Park, one of the first protected areas in South America. From the Visitor's Center, located in

the Falls area, we will take an open train to make a 15-minute journey up to 'Cataratas Station'. From there we will walk in the paths and lookouts of the upper and lower paths, admiring closely the imposing 275 waterfalls which fall to the river from a height of 70 metres. We board the train to 'Garganta Station' and from there descend by walking 1200 metres to the Devil's Throat balcony, to share one of the greatest shows on earth. Return by train to the Visitor's Center and proceed towards the Foz do Iguaçu National Park; our path ends near Floriano Fall, where there is a small gift shop and the panoramic elevator, which you can choose to board. At the end of the path a long stairway will take us to the place where our bus and driver will be waiting to start the journey back to our hotel.

Sunday, April 04 Folkloric Show with Dinner

Breakfast - Day at our leisure.

In the evening, we will be picked up at our hotel and taken to a local restaurant. After which, we will be taken to the Plaza to Foz do Iguaçu theater to enjoy a folkloric show, featuring typical dances showing the cultural varieties of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

Monday, April 05 Iguaçu Falls to Buenos Aires

Breakfast - Depart hotel by private coach at 5:00am for the airport in Iguaçu Falls. Our flight departs at 7:30am and arrives Buenos Aires at 2:00pm (NB: flight makes a stop at Curitiba in Brazil). Clear Immigration and customs, collect our bags and board our private coach to our hotel: Marriott Plaza Buenos Aires.

Tuesday, April 06 Classic City Tour

Breakfast- Buenos Aires is the capital of the tango and the football, of the gaucho and the 'asado'. In the city that never sleeps, there is time and space for everyone. In this half-day tour, we will travel along the 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest in the city. We will notice the Obelisk, the most representative monument in the city, and the famous Colon Theatre (Opera House), a masterpiece of architecture with superb acoustics. We then continue to San Telmo neighborhood, the birthplace of the city, and to May Square, one of the historical and political centers, surrounded by the Government House or the Casa Rosada, site of the national government, the Cabildo, a historical building which was center of the colonial political life, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Town Hall, site of the city government. Then on to La Boca district, picturesque neighborhood where the Italian immigrants settled the Caminito street. The tour continues along May Avenue, a typically Spanish area, to get to the Plaza de los Dos Congresos, just in front of the Congress Building. Heading north, the tour gets to the aristocratic Recoleta district, known for its Cemetery and to Palermo, a wide and beautiful park located in the heart of one of the most elegant areas in the city.

At 8:00pm we depart for the La Ventana Dinner Show where we will enjoy a typical Argentine night on the town. La Ventana is a finely restored historic convent, which has become a "must" for a classic night in Buenos Aires.

Argentina, is a beautiful, melodious dance, and is quite spectacular when performed by such professionals as those at La Ventana. Our dinner will include the classic to the most extravagant "parrilla al carbon" (BBQ), international cuisine and regional dishes and desserts. Return to hotel after the show.

Wednesday, April 07 Lujan Basilic Full Day Tour with Lunch

Breakfast - Spend a full day taking a trip to the cathedral city of Lujan. This is an interesting tour with much insight into the history and religious background of Argentina. The town of Lujan is 40 miles west of Buenos Aires and is the home of a miraculous statue, Our Lady of Lujan. The cathedral is quite impressive and is visited by thousands of pilgrims from all parts of the world. The Town Hall is preserved intact from colonial days and is now a fine historical museum. Lunch is included.

Return to our hotel in the late afternoon.

Thursday, April 08 Day trip to Montevideo, Uruguay

Breakfast - We are picked up from our hotel and transferred to the pier to take the hydrofoil to Montevideo, the modern capital of Uruguay. We will visit will the highlights of the Uruguay's capital. (Includes visit to Shopping Center). Later, we will be returned to the pier to take the hydrofoil back to Buenos Aires, and then back to our hotel.

Friday, April 09 Buenos Aires to Miami

Breakfast - Day at your leisure to pack your bags and relax. Leave hotel at 7:00pm for the airport and our departure on flight AA 808 at 10:55pm.

Saturday, April 10 Miami to Barbados

Arrive Miami at 6:55am. Connect to AA 1089 departing Miami at 9:55am, arriving Barbados at 1:20pm.
