Saturday, October 25                                                                                                                 Depart Barbados by BA2154 at 4:40pm.

 

Sunday, October 26                                                                                                                  Arrive London (Gatwick) at 4.50am.  Clear Immigration, collect bags and transfer by       private coach to Heathrow Airport for connecting flight BA 043 departing at 4:45pm.

 

Monday, October 27                                                                                                                  Arrive Cape Town at 6:15am.  Clear Immigration and customs and transfer to Holiday Inn Waterfront Hotel or similar. Day at your leisure to relax or simply explore the shops at the            Waterfront. Dinner and a welcome drink included

 

Tuesday, October 28                                                                                                            Breakfast. Depart for a historical tour through Cape Town.  Visit the Castle, District Six         Museum, the Company Gardens, Malay Quarters; travel up the Table-Mountain for a birds eye view over the most beautiful city in Africa (weather permitting).  Drive up to Signal Hill to view the city. Relax and enjoy a glass of  champagne / Fruit juice.                                       Afternoon at your leisure.

 

Wednesday, October 29                                                                                                       Breakfast  Explore the Waterfront before boarding the shuttle across the Atlantic Ocean to visit  the “World Cultural Heritage Site”-Robben Island-the Prison Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for a period of 18 Years of his 27 years imprisonment. Return to the Waterfront, this is a serious shopper’s paradise. After shopping, take the complimentary shuttle back to your hotel.

 

Thursday, October 30                                                                                                       Breakfast.  Depart the hotel for a full day tour to the Cape of Good Hope - Cape Point , where the Indian-Atlantic Ocean have their rendezvous, all along the Cape Peninsula. En route - the penguin colony at the boulders - a boat ride at Houtbay to visit a colony of Cape fur seals.  Check the coastline for the biggest mammals that visit South Africa’s coastline every year - the Southern Right Whales. Drive up Chapmans Peak (if open), for a view of Houtbay. Visit the semi precious stone  factory - biggest in the world. Lunch at the Two Oceans / Black Marlin restaurant (own expense). Return to the H.I. Waterfront, via Rhodes drive.

 

Friday, October 31                                                                                                             Breakfast. Drive through the traditional township of the African people-Khayelitsha.                          Experience the life of the indigenous people of    Africa. Continue through to visit Stellenbosch, the most beautiful city in South Africa with its Victorian and Cape Dutch Architecture. Visit a Cheetah breeding camp at the Spier Wine Estate.  Return to the hotel at 5:30pm.

Saturday, November 1                                                                                                        Breakfast. Leave Cape Town via Somerset West Strand and along the “Riviera of the Cape “ to Hermanus-The Whale Mecca of the World, the best land based Whale spotting in the World. Then on to Mosselbay, where the first European Explorers, Bartholomew Dias, went ashore in 1488.  Have a  historical tour through the town, and then continue to your Hotel, along the shores of the Indian Ocean. Dinner included.

 

Sunday, November 2                                                                                                           Breakfast. Depart over the Outeniqua Mountains to the Klein Karoo to Oudtshoorn, the Ostrich Farm, for a tour through the Safari / Highgate Show Ranch - a ride on the fastest animal on two legs, in the world. Have lunch at the Ostrich Farm, speciality Ostrich Steaks (included). Visit the Cango Caves (optional), the most beautiful Stalactite, Stalagmites dripstone caves in the world. The Cheetah/Crocodile Ranch-(optional).  Return to the Hotel.

 

Monday, November 3                                                                                                          Breakfast  Depart for an unforgettable ride over five lakes, five rivers, two estuaries through the Wilderness to Knysna (if the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe is running). Visit the Garden of Eden,  continue on to Plettenberg Bay, the “Pearl of the Garden Route”. Check for dolphins in the Bay - then continue through Natures Valley into the Tsitsikamma Rain Forest, visit some of the giants of the Forrest; the Big Yellow Wood trees. Check out the World Record Bungee Jump at the Bloukrans River Bridge. We continue the journey along the shores of the Indian Ocean towards Port Elizabeth, overnight  in the Courtyard / Paxton Hotel, overlooking the Indian Ocean (dinner is at own expense).

 

Tuesday, November 4                                                                                                       Breakfast. Early Morning departure to Addo Elephant National Park, the Wildlife Sanctuary that prides itself having the densest population of Elephants anywhere in the World between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown. Become part of this Wildlife Sanctuary and let Nature take over; enjoy the day in this unique “African Bush”.  Afternoon drive through the wilderness at Schotia Private Game Reserve, indulge in the “National Geographic’s Dream” and watch  Lions prepare on the hunt.  Watch all this from your open Four Wheel drive Land rovers; an unforgettable experience.  Close off the eventful day with a true African Feast, a Boma dinner in the Bush under the African Sky (dinner included) .Travel back to Port Elizabeth and your Courtyard /Paxton   Hotel.

 

Wednesday, November 5                                                                                                  Breakfast. Depart for the Port Elizabeth Airport in time for your flight with MN 763 to Durban at 11:15am, arrive in Durban at 12:25pm. The capital - Kwa Zulu Natal has the most profiled Zulu Culture in South Africa. Overnight in the Holiday Inn Hotel, or a similar hotel along the beachfront.

 

 

Thursday, November 6                                                                                                            Breakfast. Full day tour to Shaka Land, visiting the ShakaVillage. It is here where the Movie Shaka Zulu was made. You will be treated to a nostalgic experience of the authentic Zulu culture of South Africa, with tribal dancing and African Cuisine for lunch (lunch included). Return to Durban and visit some  historical places in town as well as the Victoria Market, a true piece of Asia within Africa.  Return to hotel.

 

Friday, November 7                                                                                                          Breakfast  Morning at your leisure. Depart for the airport at 2:30pm and your flight to Johannesburg with MN610 at 4:30pm, arriving in Johannesburg at 5:40pm, transfer to your Hotel Holiday Inn or similar, in Sandton for the night.

 

Saturday, November 8                                                                                                      Breakfast.  Leave your hotel , en route through the commercial capital of Africa the city of gold, “Egoli”, a visit to Soweto, the biggest  settlement of indigenous people of South Africa  Visit former President Mandela’s home, the only street in the world where two Nobel Prize            winners stayed. Visit other historical places of the “Struggle against the Apartheid” before  returning to your Hotel in Sandton.

 

Sunday, November 9                                                                                                         Breakfast.  Drive through to Sun City and Lost City. An African Legend is told of a City built by the African People long before the first explorers arrived here in Africa. Stay overnight in Pilanesberg –Kwa Maritane, place of the Rock / Bakubung and place of the Hippo, in the Pilanesberg National Park. A Wildlife Sanctuary recreated in the fashion of Genesis in the Year 1979, you stay here 2 nights.    

 

Monday, November 10                                                                                                               Early Pre-Dawn Game drive through the “Big Five” Wilderness created on an extinct                 Volcano. Enjoy the African Bush atmosphere, in search of the most unusual animals, like Rhino, Elephant, Lion, Buffalo and Leopard, perhaps the elusive Cheetah, the fastest animal on earth. Relax in the afternoon, or an optional visit of Sun / Lost City, have fun in this fantasy world of casinos and pleasure/theme Park, try your luck with Fortuna. Indulge in a typical  African feast, a traditional “Braai” (Barbeque) around the fire in the evening, overnight in the same Lodge.

 

Tuesday, November 11                                                                                                               This morning, after breakfast, you say goodbye to the wilderness and leave the Park at 10:30am en route to your hotel in Sandton, arrive at 2:00pm. Afternoon at your leisure.

 

Wednesday, November 12                                                                                                  Breakfast  Day at your leisure, perhaps to do some last minute shopping in this the most          famous shopping centre of the region. Late   afternoon transfer to Johannesburg International for your flight BA 054 at 9:25pm to London.

 

Thursday, November 13                                                                                                        Arrive Heathrow Airport at 6:35am.  Clear  immigration, collect bags and board your private coach for the journey over to Gatwick   Airport for departure to Barbados on BA 2155 at 11:00am, arriving home at 3:50pm.

Cost of Package:

BDS$15,100.00 single person - not sharing

Cost is based on a minimum of 30 persons.

 

Payment Schedule:

Non-refundable sum of BDS$1000.00 per person is required by 11 February 2008 to confirm or secure space.

A second payment of BDS$2000.00 is required by 23 May 2008.

A third payment of BD$3000.00 is required by 25 July 2008.

Final payment is due by 25 September 2008.

Note: The cost/price is subject to change based on any increase in Airline fares, government taxes, security fees, fuel surcharges and currency fluctuation.

 

Cancellation:

No refund on deposit

Loss of 50% of remainder if cancellation takes place between 25 Aug. and 26 Sept. 2008.

After 30 September 2008, loss of total payment less relevant airline refund.

 

Travel Insurance:

Travel Insurance is recommended and can be arranged through The Travel House.

 

Passports:

Passports must not expire before May 2009.

 

Climate:

Generally hot. A sweater, an umbrella and a raincoat are recommended.

 

Currency:

Travellers cheques, USD cash and major credit cards are accepted.  The currency of South Africa is the Rand. The exchange rate regularly fluctuates.

 

Dress:

Casual - comfortable shoes, slacks, shorts, T-shirts etc. Two to three elegantly casual  outfits would be adequate.
